Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA)
The impressive ARMA complex is the only place in Bali to see the haunting works by the influential German artist Walter Spies. It is house in several traditional building set in gardens and features works by Lempad, Affandi, Sadali Hofker, Bonnet and Le Mayeur.

Museum Le Mayeur
Adrien Jean Le Mayeur de Merpes (1880-1958) arrived in Bali in 1932. Three years later, He met and married the beautiful Legong dancer Ni Polok. The main house must have been delightful - a peaceful and elegant filled with art and antiques right by the tranquil beach. More than 90 works by Le Mayeur are on display in his old compound on the beach at the north end of Sanur’s sea front. Paintings from his depictions of daily life and beautiful Balinese woman. The works from the 50s show the vibrant colors that later become popular with young Balinese artists.

Museum Negeri Propinsi Bali
This large museum comprises of several buildings and pavilions, including examples of the architecture of both the Puri (palace) and Pura (temple) with features of Candi Bentar (split gateway) and kul-kul (warning drum) tower. The artifacts are vary from the fine wood and cane carrying cases for transporting fighting cocks and tiny carrying case for fighting crickets.

Museum Puri Lukisan
Fine examples of all school Balinese art are shown at this excellent museum. It was in Ubud that the modern Balinese art movement started, where artist first began to abandon purely religious themes and court subjects for scenes of daily life, just have a look at Balinese Market by Anak Agung Gde Sobrat to see the vibrancy of local painting.

Neka Art Museum
This private museum has an excellence and diverse collection. It is the best place to learn about the development of painting in Bali. Various area are name for some of Ubud’s most renowned painters including Arie Smit and I Gusti Nyoman Lempad, Louise Koke, Miguel Covarrubias, Rudolf Bonnet, Han Snel, Donald Friend and Antonio Blanco.

Fasifika Museum
The grand new museum at Nusa Dua shopping place, several centuries of art from culture around the pacific ocean are displayed. The influential wave of European artist that throve in Bali in early 20th century is well represented.
